West of Scotland has a vast fleet of specialist equipment specifically-designed for carrying blades, nacelles and tower sections, including HIABs | Truck Mounted Cranes –  available to provide extra support where required.

At West of Scotland Heavy Haulage, we have dedicated teams of Drivers, Escort Staff and Support Staff who between them have a wealth of knowledge & understand the unique needs and requirements involved in transporting wind turbine components.

At West of Scotland we are great believers in Planning and preparation is the key to ensuring success when it comes time for component deliveries to site. The pre transportation phases of projects include route assessments, swept paths and test runs, liaising with local authorities, producing TTRO’s, TMP’S, and where required obtaining agreement’s for the removal and replacement of any street furniture as well as attending meetings on and off site

West of Scotland Heavy Haulage has as strong fleet of 8 + in-house Escort | Pilot Vans to assist with the transport of the turbine components, all our Pilots | Escort staff understand the requirements and skills required in the safe passage of large Oversize | Abnormal loads.

West of Scotland Heavy Haulage is also able to provide port handling services this includes storage facilities and loading and reloading of equipment and components on to specialist transport for forward shipping, and or delivery to site.

Being ideally placed in Cumbernauld, we have facilities within the port of KGV, Glasgow as our activity in the sector has grown we offer full UK and Ireland coverage working from various ports, offering a full logistical package.
